Bali 2018 Day 3: Seminyak

DAY 3: 2 SEP 2018
Broken Beach
We were awakened by roosters crowing and the morning mosque prayers.
The guest house served up a simple hearty breakfast before we left for our boat
which departs at 9.30am.
Our guest house kindly offered to give us a ride back to the harbour.
But I didn't realise that it was on a motorbike.
I was a little hesitant at first as this would be my first time on a motorbike.
The ride was very short and I loved it!

Upon arriving at the harbour, we proceeded to check in and get our tickets.
The boarding this time round was slightly different as the tides were low.
We got onto small boats first before transferring to a fast boat docked in the middle of the waters.
As usual, we had to remove our footwear before boarding.

The waves were rougher this time round and I had a little bit of motion sickness.
Upon arriving at Sanur beach, we had to waddle in knee-high waters again.
To get back to Seminyak, we had to get a taxi from the main road.
There were drivers waiting at the beach, however, they may not be reliable as mentioned
in many online forums.
There were taxis lined by the main road when we exited
but they were either Bali or Ngurah Rai taxis.
These taxi companies usually do not offer metered rates.
We were lucky to chance upon a Blue Bird taxi driver on our way out.

After leaving our bags at the hotel, we made our way to The Honeybees for lunch.
Bali Spiced Chicken
It was a 25 minutes walk from our hotel.
The Honeybees serves a mix of Indonesian and Western dishes.
The portion was generous and the food was good and affordable.

Thereafter, we decided to pop by Cafe Organic for a drink on our way back.

Cafe Organic

The cafe was beautifully decorated.
I got a cup of hot matcha latte at 30,000 Rp which is very cheap as compared to
the prices in Singapore.

Dinner was at Sea Circus.
Pulled Pork Tacos
Chicken Quesadilla
The pulled pork tacos (70,000 Rp) were flavourful and the pulled pork was juicy and tender.
The chicken quesadilla (85,000 Rp) was good too and the sauces added another element to the dish.
Motel Mexicola also serves good Mexican food.
However, the queue was really long when we walked past the restaurant after our dinner.
So, it will be good if you could go early to avoid the long queues.

We decided to treat ourselves with a 30 minutes foot massage at Kimberly Spa.
This is one of the reputable massage joints in Seminyak and the prices are very reasonable.
We paid 50,000 Rp for our massage and our feet didn't feel as sore as before.
Do give it a try if you are in Seminyak!
